I HAD a return policy once, and we really got burnt
bad a few times, there are not so nice people out there that would take parts
off of the item replace it with the non working one and send it back! In
one auction that happened on 10% of the items.
Due to buyers’ lack of knowledge of software, drivers,
or hardware, or when they get the item they don't want to look for or can't
find a driver and want to send it back, or taking a part
off it to make their item work.
I have had people that must have not even read the description,
bought a AGP card and not have a AGP slot, or bought PC100 ram and end up needing
72Pin. I am sorry I am not wallmart! Do a search

Make sure that what you bid on you can use!
The last piece of equipment I took back was 4 years ago,
it was an Ext. zip drive. I gave the buyer his money back and that drive sat
here for a few weeks in a box. I could not understand why it came back because it was my personal zip, not an item I got from a
company and it worked the day it left. I took it apart
to see if I could see anything wrong, why it didn't even power up. What
I found was a replaced drive, they never even plugged the cables back into
it or put the screws back in the side.
I am 99.9% sure it works. If for some reason I thought it
didn't work I would not have posted it. I don't want to ruin a good thing I
have going on ebay over a $5 item.....and I have a lot of comeback bidders.
I see very little equipment that doesn't work.

We also take on whole estates,
and sometimes are unsure of the history of an item or if it came
from a pet or smoke free environment?
Because of the contract with the companies we do this
for, I have to format every Hard drive, so we have to power up every piece
of equipment at least twice. I know all the HD's I have on line work,
and we plug a monitor in so I know the video works :) The ram and CPUs
must work also:) The computers that don't power up or have errors we don't
part out we just take to the scrap yard cause its not worth testing or taking
it apart for $5
